Ecobuild audio visual system. Zen were commissioned by the developer to provide a private client with a discreet but high-end audio visual system for this sustainable new build in Cheltenham. This stunning passive-certified house, designed by the architects Glazzards, contains a heat recovery system and underfloor heating throughout – a sedum covered roof structure completes this building’s green credentials.

Slim bezel B&W ceiling speakers were used throughout, including the en-suite bathrooms, powered by a custom install Rotel amplifier and a high-end Pioneer AV receiver for the open plan kitchen and living room. This room also benefits from full 5.1 surround sound, coupled to a Samsung 65″ in-wall TV and a beautiful B&W PV1D subwoofer. Control of the system is via a custom CommandFusion interface. For a clean look Zen designed and built a custom IP to HDMI CEC gateway, removing the need for any ugly infrared ‘buds’ or emitters stuck to the front of the Samsung TV.

A Sonos system provides music streamed from Spotify or the clients’ iPhones and iPads in any room at the touch of a button.

Sky HD is distributed on the certified CAT6 infrastructure via HDanywhere HDBaseT hardware, with 2 boxes cleverly shared between the living areas of the house. This allows control of Sky either via iPad or the traditional Sky remote control.
