Zen were asked to design and integrate a wired Rako lighting system into this developer show-home – alongside an AV system with full Sky+HD distribution and Sonos multi-room audio.

B&W ceiling speakers were used throughout, with most equipment housed in a neat centralised rack. Due to the CAT6 wiring network being used for HD distribution, our cabling experts were able to professionally terminate and certify the cabling was up to specification before work started. The wiring is fully capable of transmitting 4K/UltraHD in the future, and using HDBase-T technology (which provides 4K capability now) further future-proofs this technology-filled home.

Working closely with the client’s electricians and the other trades during the build, we were able to deliver advanced lighting control via the Rako wired keypads – mirrored on the iPad controller running a custom CommandFusion interface. Pressing one button on leaving the house switches off all non-essential lights, and pressing another next to the bed before bedtime switches off all downstairs lights; all customised to the client’s requirements.

The stunning SieMatic kitchen and open plan living area benefit from surround sound for the full home cinema experience, coupled to a mighty B&W subwoofer.

The Heatmiser underfloor heating system was also integrated onto the network, allowing full control from the in-home iPad – or securely from anywhere in the world via the client’s iPhone.
